Getting Ready

Now that we have less than two weeks until basketball season starts, everyone is putting in the extra work to make sure they are ready for fitness testing, tryouts, and practice. Some people have spent extra time in the weight room, some people have spent extra time on the court, some people have spent extra time on the track, and some have been spending time doing all three. Besides the open gym and the weight room, I have been getting a few friends to join me on the track for about 30 minutes every other day. Out there, we run around the track for a little while to warm up, get a nice stretch in, then do a variety of sprints. By doing this every other day, I'm hoping that it will give the extra push to get me in basketball shape so i don't have to worry about conditioning since I will already be conditioned. Since there are less than two weeks until practices starts, it is tough to start something new your workout routine if you expect to see results in that area. Since this is the case, one must already be doing the workouts he hopes, and expects, to help him improve before the season starts.
